Students will soon be required to use Duo two-factor authentication for logging into any CCA systems (by March 1, 2023).
We encourage you to opt into Duo prior to that date to ensure a smooth transition.
Accounts that are protected with Duo two-factor authentication are far less likely to be compromised (we saw this with the recent phishing scam) because Duo requires two methods to verify your identity:
#1: Your username + password
#2: A device, like a mobile phone, to approve authentication requests).
You can read more about two-factor authentication here.
What can happen when your CCA account is compromised?
- Your personal and sensitive information can be accessed in your Workday, Gmail, or Google Drive account.
- You could lose money. For example, the attacker logs into Workday and changes direct deposit information for your payroll or financial aid refunds (a known tactic).
- Your identity could be stolen and used to commit fraud.
To opt into Duo, please visit this Portal page for step-by-step instructions.
In February, staff by the front desks of Hooper, Founders Hall, and the Main Building can help you get enrolled in Duo! Look out for posters around campus as well, directing you to the instructions for enrolling in Duo.
If you have any questions or run into any problems, please reach out to the Help Desk at helpdesk@cca.edu or by phone at 415-703-9560 between 9am and 5pm.
