
OBJECT EMPATHY - PURPOSE AND PLAY; How Emotion and Product combine in our use, experiences, and feelings about those objects.
We will be investigating the emotional aspects of product engagement as both a brand experience and a physical engagement around object empathy. How do tools, toys, and instruments become partners in our culture and self-definition? How have products impacted mankind by forming emotional relationships with tools and objects. Think of the way a chef adores knives, musicians with certain instruments, mechanics with certain tools. We will investigate both the emotional connection and the practical use of these tools as emotional artifacts that help define who we are, both in our work and in our play.
