Course Description

Through the process of making  wheel-thrown objects, students of ALL abilities, (Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced), will join together in the pursuit of expanding their knowledge in studio pottery practices. Each student will work toward individual and shared objectives designed to deepen and broaden their own creative development. In addition to skill acquisition, (How), we will discuss What we make, and Why we make it. We will interrogate the role of ‘Quality’ through the lens of contemporary and historical pottery.  Learning will be scaffolded with timely Lectures, Demonstrations, and Projects. This course is structured for maximum studio work time; this is an energetic, hands-on course, where students learn by doing.
