How do we gauge when it's safe to be close? When is kneeling confrontational? How do similar physical moves mean different things when they are performed by different kinds of bodies? What opportunities open when we move to asynchronous studio practice? All these contemporary questions are about physically and emotionally sharing social space with other bodies--which is rich material for creative practice.

In this course we’ll work and play with tools for perceiving, interpreting, co-constructing, and performing social relationships. You’ll learn and use basic skills from somatic practice, social practice, and performance. You’ll also translate some creative prompts into your own primary medium, and you’ll reflect and report on what happens.
