Tuesdays and Fridays, 8:00am -11:00am (Pacific Standard Time)
Animation 2 will have two main objectives:
1) Provide the student with a method and process in approaching Character Animation to create sequences using clear expressive actions and attitudes.
2) Provide the student experience in believable Character Animation, conveying a sense of weight, energy, and intention (acting) used to bring the character to life.
This course is about Character Acting and Body Mechanics. Students will gain understanding on how a character’s body moves and what motivates a move. They will learn how to use live action reference and what to look for in that reference. The course provides production experience: thumbnail storyboards, model sheets, layouts, background design, and basic rules of cinema.
The goal is to give students a proper foundation (timing, staging, appeal) and workflow best practices to use when they move to advanced animation classes.
