This course is cross-listed as three different classes, but is in fact Ceramics/ Sculpture Media History, with some contemporary issues in craft addressed as well. If that is what you are looking for, you are in the right place.
Over the years, this class has taken many shapes, depending on who teaches it. what the current needs are and even the students. I am presenting a reasonably comprehensive world history of ceramics, covering as many cultures and practices as possible. My hope is to introduce you to the many stories of clay, so you can follow those threads later if you are want to know more: finding your own path with this most common and most extraordinary of materials.
