With the end of the Spring term only a few weeks away, we have provided the following checklist for you to verify your Moodle gradebook calculations and course settings.

Gradebook

If you are using Moodle gradebook, please confirm the calculations match your planned grading breakdown and that your students have viewing access.

unchecked Select an appropriate grading aggregation method. If the value of a graded item, such as an assignment, is determined by its maximum points, use “Natural.” If the value of an item is determined by its adjusted weight, use “Weighted Mean of Grades.

unchecked Enter "0"s for all student work that has not been submitted.

unchecked Unhide your gradebook so that students can access their grades in Moodle.

If you need help with Gradebook setup, feel free to contact Help Desk to schedule a one-on-one consultation with our Instructional Designer.

Note: Moodle is not CCA's academic system of record; all official grades should be submitted in Workday. Contact Student Records if you need more help.

Course End Date

The default course end date for Spring 2025 Moodle courses is set to May 12, 2025. Once the date is reached, your course will remain classified as “In Progress” for a grace period of 7 days before changing over to “Past.” You and your students will still be able to access “Past” courses by adjusting the Course Overview filter after the grace period has elapsed.

unchecked Confirm that your course end date is set to May 12, 2025. If you need to change to a different course end date or time to adjust the course status, see Editing Your Course Date for more.
